HNGC News 2018
We are all saddened by the passing of Past President Gail Freel. Gail was President from 2008-2011 and a driving force in the club. She will be greatly missed.
Our application for a grant to the Quincy Community Preservation Program to improve the landscaping around the World War II memorial on the corner of Sea Street and Manet Ave was successful and $25,000 was awarded for the project. The club will be working with landscaper,
Ralph Ames. Watch out for more news as this project develops.

The Club awarded three five hundred dollar scholarships to three Quincy High School graduates. The recipients are Julie Hong, who will attend U Mass Boston and major in Science and Marine Biology, Helena Norton who will attend Mass Maritime Academy and major in Marine Safety and Environmental Protection and Rachel Shen who will attend MIT and major in Environmental Science and Biotechnology. The HNGC has funds for only two scholarships but had three outstanding candidates. The Club is very grateful to Ron Goodman for donating $500 this year for a one-time scholarship.
The HNGC was awarded a 2018 Houghs Neck Community Council Good Neighbor Award for Civic Contributions to the Neighborhood.
